Meet Michaela
Michaela is the lead groomer at New Leash Dog Salon.
She loves spending her spare time on adventures with her poodle and border collie, competing in sports such as conformation, trick dog, and dances with dogs. She’s a dog whisperer working toward achieving the status of an Internationally Certified Master Groomer after years of working as an expert groomer running her own salons. She knows your gorgeous golden and precious poodle has their unique personality, and she can’t wait to get to know them better.

A gentle wash in hand selected boutique shampoo and conditioner for your pooch’s skin and coat type, a warm blow out and thorough brush of the coat followed by a trim of the nails and clean of the ears and gentle cleaning under the eyes and any skin folds. Trimming of the paw pads, sanitary areas and a full clip of the body and legs up to 1.5cm left on their coat, with the head and tail styled to the owner’s preference. Note: Extra deshedding charges will likely apply for thick, double-coated breeds like golden retrievers, border collies, and samoyeds that need to be brushed out prior to clipping, but this will be quoted at check-in. Matting may need to be clipped or cut out if unable to be combed out, and may incur an extra charge and/or result in a shorter haircut than desired. Suitable for all breeds that require a full haircut all over their body, such as Maltese, Bichons, Poodles and Oodles or double-coated breeds where the owner has chosen to clip them down for health or individual reasons. Full groom clients must adhere to a 10-week or less schedule to maintain their coat and nails.

Trimming of the paw pads, sanitary areas and a full styled cut of the body and legs with more than 1.5cm left on their coat with the head and tail styled to the owner’s preference, including breed cuts.. Note: Extra deshedding charges will likely apply for thick, double-coated breeds like Golden Retrievers, Border Collies, and Samoyeds that need to be brushed out before clipping, but this will be quoted at check-in. Matting may need to be clipped or cut out if unable to be combed out, and may incur an extra charge and/or result in a shorter haircut than desired. Handstripping charges may apply for Cocker Spaniels and similar stripped breeds if owners want them to be stripped instead of clipped. Suitable for all breeds that require a full haircut all over their body and want a higher maintenance fluffier style, such as Maltese, Bichons, Poodles and Oodles or double-coated breeds where the owner has chosen to clip them down for health or individual reasons. Designer groom clients must adhere to a 4-6 weekly schedule at a minimum to maintain their coat and nails.

Trimming of the paw pads, sanitary areas and a light face tidy if desired. Extensive sculpting of any feathering based on the owner’s styling preference can be requested as additional hand-scissoring. Note: Extra deshedding charges will likely apply for thick double-coated breeds like Golden Retrievers, Border Collies, Samoyeds, etc, but will be quoted at check-in. Matting may need to be clipped or cut out if unable to be combed out, and may incur an extra charge. Suitable for medium to long coated dogs that don’t require a full haircut all over their body. Medium to long double-coated breeds are recommended to stay on an 8-weekly or less schedule to maintain their coat and nails, arctic breeds like Samoyeds are recommended 6 weekly or less.
